Description: As countries digitalise their health systems, health practitioners and ministries of health are learning what makes the development and introduction of digital health tools and approaches successful. However, global policies and digital health investments often do not reflect the priorities and lessons that have emerged from these countries’ experiences. PATH and Cooper/Smith partnered on the Data Use Acceleration and Learning (DUAL) initiative, which is reflecting country lessons on data use and digital transformation to inform future global health policies, interventions, and funding mechanisms.

Join us to learn how the experts from PATH and Cooper/Smith collected and synthesized learnings from five countries –Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Malawi, South Africa, and Tanzania; using a model for digital transformation for data use built upon the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) eHealth Strategy Building Blocks. The model serves as a practical, comprehensive guide to share what is working to advance the use of data to advance health equity, and support country leaders, funders, and implementers to choose the actions that make sense for their digital health systems’ context.
